General James R. Anderson.
General James R. Anderson, of Richmond, Va., died Wednesday at the Isle of Shoals. He was 80 years old, a graduate of West Point, and entered the Confederate service in 1861, but resigned, and through the war manufactured cannon for the Confederate army. For many years past he has been President of the Tredegar Works at Richmond, the largest iron works south of Pennsylvania.
