Dear Sir:
In reply to you of yesterdays date accompanied by ours to you from Major Downes of same date, we beg leave to state that in our opinion we will be able to manufacture promptly into Gun Barrel iron all the Pig Metal you can procure, in our Rolling Mill now in operation; but should the quantity required by you be very large, we would on reasonable notice start one other Rolling Mill, which has not been completed only because there was no prospect of obtaining Metal to keep at employed.
