CARTRIDGES. - About three hundred and seventy women and girls are now employed in making cartridges at the Thomas Factory in Bird Island. The cartridges are removed as rapidly as they are made, and no fear of accident is felt by those in charge of the operations.
The manufacture of fulminating powder has not been resumed, but a composition which answers the purpose, for a limited period, is being made.
