DEATH OF DR. T. L. INGRAM.
He Passed Away at His Home in Lunenburg Sunday Afternoon.

Dr. Thomas Locke Ingram, of Lunenburg Courthouse, died Sunday evening at his home, “Laurel Hill,” after a brief illness.

The deceased was an uncle of Judge John H. Ingram, of the Hustings Court, of Manchester, and Dr. Lawrence Ingram, also of that city. Last Thursday the serious illness of Dr. Ingram called his nephew, Dr. Lawrence Ingram to his bedside, and, his condition growing worse, Judge Ingram left his court, then in session, and hurried to the scene. The deceased was in his 57th year, and for many years was a practicing physician of Lunenburg county. He was loved and honored by the whole community, and his loss will be keenly felt by all classes of people, who are alike in their universal praise of the deceased.

Dr. Ingram graduated with high honors from the Richmond Medical College, and began the practice of medicine when quite a boy.

When the war broke out he entered the army as a private, and served in the ranks until his services became more valuable as a surgeon, when he was assigned to duty at various stations. He was first at Libby Prison, and then at South Carolina Hospital, in Manchester, and finally at the Belle Isle Hospital. He was a brother of the late Elector S. L. Ingram, and an uncle of Mr. Page W. Ingram, of Manchester. His funeral will take place this afternoon from his home, near Lunenburg Courthouse.
