NO STRIKE AT TREDEGAR
Management of Iron Works Reaches Agreement With Machinists.
The threatened strike of machinists employed by the Tredegar Iron Works has been averted, it was announced yesterday. The company and members of Machinists Union No. 10 have reached an understanding regarding the proposed change in the wage basis at the plant, which becomes effective next Monday.
The machinists objected to the substitution of the bonus system for the straight-time scale. Just what agreement was made was not given out.
