Richmond Circuit Court July 22 – In obedience to a writ of habeas corpus awarded to Morris Davis, and issued by Judge Joynes, of Petersburg, and sent to Judge Meredith, of this Court, directed to the Sheriff of Petersburg,(whose prisoners are now boarded by Sergeant Dudley,) the body of the prisoner was brought into Court this day. The charge against him was grand larceny, and there being no immediate probability of a Court being held in that city, the Judge decided that he was entitled to bail, and ordered that he may be bailed by any Justice of Peace in the sum of $1,000.
