Robbery. – The store-room of Charles H. Wilson, living on Brook avenue, was robbed on Wednesday night of about fifteen hundred dollars’ worth of bacon, lard, and other groceries. Slats were cut from the window shutters, which permitted the thieves to insert their hand and raise the fastening, thereby opening a way through which they could easily enter the basement and carry off the provisions which were kept therein. Just as they were leaving the premises, Mr. Wilson was aroused by their retreating footsteps, and seizing a gun he rushed to his chamber window in time to fire as they were crossing the street but failed to inflict any injury upon the. They were two in number and seemed to be white men dressed in soldier clothes.
