Prison Items. – Fifty-seven men were lodged in Castle Thunder yesterday morning. Among the number were four conscripts from Lynchburg. – The balance were charged with desertion. J H Grant, of company B, 27th N C regiment, died in the Prison Hospital yesterday. The deaths there average one a day, owing to the bad condition in which many are who are received in the prison, where the exposure and want of many little comforts soon begets sickness. Lieut George, W M Brown, and John Thomas, charged with assaulting and shooting at a man on Main street, were yesterday turned over to the Mayor by order of Major Griswold.
