Street Assault. – A lady yesterday morning stopped near the corner of 9th and Broad streets, to ask a question of a bystander, when she was violently assaulted by his wife, who mistook her for a rival in the affections of her husband. The affair was explained – but not until the young lady's clothes had been literally torn to pieces and her person badly bruised. The assailant was taken to the Provost's office, but released after a hearing. A large crowd was drawn together by this extraordinary street scene.
