Bogus Provost Guard. - A man, giving his name as James M. Levert, undertook, last night, about 5 o'clock, near the Black Pond, on the Mechanicsville turnpike, to act as a Provost Guard, by stopping a countryman who was on his way to town with produce, and demanding his pats. The bogus guard being alone, the gentleman from the rural districts summoned a comrade, and captured him. He was brought to Castle Thunder and locked up. He was either playing off drunk, or was really so, when brought there.
