Examining Court. – A Court of Magistrates was held in the City Hall yesterday for the examination of Peter Reynolds, charged with stabbing and causing the death of John Gordon, a paroled Yankee prisoner, at the house of Ann Thomas, on Cary Street, some few weeks since. The evidence showed that Gordon caused a difficulty by eulogizing the Lincoln Government, for which Reynolds gave him a blow in the mouth with a spittoon, another party inflicting the stab which resulted in death. After a hearing Reynolds was remanded for trial at the next term of Judge Lyon’s Court, and his bail fixed at $1,000, in default of which he was sent to jail.
