From the Richmond Dispatch, 7/19/1862, p. 2, c. 4

Police Court. – John Pero, his wife and son, were brought before the sitting magistrate yesterday, charged jointly with perpetrating as assault on Mary Whalen and her husband. Owing to some conflict of testimony relative to a material point involved, the examination was continued until Monday. The locality of the muss was at a place called Five Points, situated at the end of St. Stephen's street. – Daniel O'Neal, charged with sealing a pocket-book from Jos. Barry, containing four dollars, being a soldier was sent before the Provost Marshal. – Caroline, a slave, charged with stealing sheets, pillow-cases, &c., from Camp Winder, was found guilty, and ordered a whipping.
