Prison Items – The Secretary of War yesterday remitted the sentence of court martial on Wm W Goodwin, a member of Co K, 47th Va reg’t, and ordered him to be sent to his regiment. Four members of Co G. 25th Va battalion, (city) were put in the military prison of the Eastern District yesterday for desertion. Stephen McNeal, a deserter from the 59th Va reg’t, who made his escape there from a short time since, was recaptured yesterday by detective Caphart, and conducted to his old quarters.
