Confederate States District Court, Yesterday. – Upon the petition of George W. Johnson, who states that he is illegally detained in custody by Major James B. McCaw, and alleges that he is exempt from service in the armies of the Confederate States, from the fact that he is a First Lieutenant in the 74th regiment of Virginia militia, regularly commissioned and qualified, a writ of habeas corpus was awarded him, returnable on Monday next, the 11th inst.

The hearing of numerous applications for discharges, which still remain undecided, was postponed till future days.
